Good Food Nation Bill: Urge your MSPs to support the creation of an Independent Food Commission

Email your MSPs to urge them to support the establishment of an Independent Food Commission

The Good Food Nation Bill is currently going through its last stages in the parliamentary process, but it isn't strong enough to deliver real change for our food system. On the 14th of June, Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs) will be debating the final draft of the Bill before it becomes law.  We have just a few weeks left to put pressure on MSPs to ensure this new legislation delivers on its promise.

There is one change that can make a difference to this Bill: an Independent Food Commission. We need a Food Commission to oversee and guide our progress towards a fairer, healthier and more sustainable food system. This Commission needs to be independent of government, so that it can give us a true picture of the whole system. Free from political pressures, it would inform us about what we already do well – and what needs to improve. Establishing an independent body to champion action and scrutinise progress is our best chance of making headway.

Write to your MSPs now to urge them to support the establishment of an Independent Food Commission as part of the Good Food Nation Bill. Enter your postcode in the box below to email all your MSPs (your constituency MSP and your 7 regional MSPs).
